Default high knock number on apexi pfc?

had a bit of sport with a focus st the other day and checked the peak values on the commander when i got home and the peak knock count was 32. is there a sort of safe range for these? some guy posted the other day after mapping that his was 83 which is def knocking badly but is 32 within reason? mine was mapped by andy f 3 weeks ago and this is the 1st time ive really gave it any beans as i just like the odd blast now an again but he came up behind me an i thought it would be a good chance to see how she would perform (totally destroyed the focus btw lol). it is running normally since then ie 14-16 with normal driving so its all good just wondered what peoples experience is who have an apexi and commander fitted.

32 isn't beyond the realm of safe mate as long as it isn't regular, normal driving when I had mne was 12-14 and sometimes might get a peak of 28-32 depending how close I got to the redline on gear change

How do you check the peak knock level on an Apexi?

set it to display knock on 1 channel then press the up arrow button and it will display the peak number recorded for that trip. it will display peak values on 1,2,4 and 8 channel data as well by pressing up on the arrow up button too.

Pat the map told me that above 60 was something to worry about when he mapped mine a few years ago, so i'd say 30 odd is ok, i saw mid 50's on mine on a track day at donnington once, and 30/40 during a couple of sprint days, wish i'd have stuck with the apexi instead of going simtec, maybe i'd still only be on my second engine instead of my third.

id heard the same m8, 60 and above and you need to start investigating. its one of the good things about apexi is having the ability to monitor data with the commander and as you said could be an engine saver if you spotted really high knock numbers.
