Default Phormula KS3.

I recently fitted a KS3.Can someone recommend the settings I should use on my car, ie sensitivity, and knock alert? My car is a MY 05 JDM STI with full decat, 3 port boost solenoid, K+N Typhoon and mapped to 1.49 bar. Thanks Steve.

I have mine set to full sensitivity and alarm at 40. Rarely have the alarm go off. Infact it only goes of when im on track right at the top of the rev range and the its onlt a max of 45 ish. Al engines are a little different though. Ideally youd set it up during mapping with det cans

Thanks for that. I,ve had mine set at 10 sensitivity and a 40 limit. When starting the car on this setting it goes between 22+ 41 which sets the alarm off, then on it doesn,t go much above 20 but this morning I had the alarm go off with a reading of 83. Even using full boost on the motorway it doesn,t go above 20 ish. This morning was the first time the alarm has gone off using full boost. Steve.

You might have had an isolated instance of det at that level.
I set mine to 10 sensitivity with alarm at 45 I find that I'll get higher readings using part throttle and high-ish revs than at WOT.
I've had instances where the alarm was triggered when lifting off to change gear in the higher gears at fairly high revs.

Thanks John, I,ve been unable to trigger det alarm today , highest reading being in the high 20,s. When I think about it, as with you I had just lifted off and changed gear when the alarm sounded. Steve.

Steve,

I'm about to have Prosport guages fitted and have decided to buy and have the KS3 fitted at the same time - makes sense (though makes the whole gauge package upgrade horribly expensive). Anyway - I see you've just been going through this.

Did you shop around and find the cheapest source? Where?

Where did you end up fitting the Unit in the cockpit?

Hi Geds, I got mine from Ebay for £160 although 2 weeks later there was one for sale on Scoobynet for £140. I have fitted it to the top right hand side of the dash as shown in photo using heavy duty velcro which works very well. I would recommend the KS3, it,s a great bit of kit. Steve

Hey Steve thks for reply. U did well on the pricing. And uve picked precisly the mounting place I had considered. Great spot - in your eyeline and out of the way of central consol and dash stuff.
