Taking out centre vents

mine is a wrx but would think its the same also mine is 55 plate so not sure if they changed them on diffrent yrs but
take the lower center trim out the bit round the radio and heater controls then right at the top under the vents there is 4 screws that hold the vents in.
mine does not have the drinks holder under the vent if yours does then you might find that you have to take that out and the screws can be reached that way

the silver trim around the gearlever assy the whole piece inc the ashtray lift it up at the rear and it will unclip then slide it back, two screws will appear under the center trim take those out and gently pull the surround off its just clipped in mate
