hi my mates Rb5 has sucked in some water through the breather, not a lot but enough to make it run badly!! any ideas please as to whats happened?
Not good fella, water can not be compressed it could of done all sorts of damage, all depends on how much water it sucked in and if the engine locked up cut out etc If it sucked in a lot of water it could of bent the conrods or damaged the bearings.
Probably (hopefully) be what Pete said, I did the same in an old v6 cav, sucked some water in, it spluttered and coughed for about a week, replaced the maf (VX wanted 280+vat+fitting) got one for 80 and jobs a good un!
