Hi all,
Just filled my 6 speed after fitting today & it's taken 4.5 litres but is still on min on dipstick. I don't mind putting more in but Iv noticed no matter how hard I push the plastic yellow part of the dipstick will not go all the way into the tube upto the shoulder. Is this normal or does this explain my problem?

4.5 ltrs Christ that's too much oil. Usually around 3-3.5 ltrs if I recall. well 32 pumps on the barrel pump at work lol

Was told 4 to 4.5 on a 6 speed when totally empty. Don't know if I'm doing the right thing but I'm filing the plastic part now so it's thinner to fit but I don't see why it would be too fat anyway unless it's the wrong one or it's swelled.

Thanks for replies sorted it now. Filed it to fit & it's 2mm over top mark. It's just been apart for synchros so slightly over should be OK as Iv heard the level can drop slightly after a drive.

6spd 4.1 ltrs that's on replacement of oil so 4.5 on a complete dry box would be about right
