The boost solenoids can give trouble usually after freezing weather or car been left up for lengthy periods in my experiences.
It doesnt sound like its starving itself of fuel, you will only know that when going for higher rpm and high load. I have a version 6 standard ecu that i can post to ya and see if that remedies the problem.

Have you cleaned the boost solenoid out? Just pop the pipes off it and undo the 2 nuts to get it free - connect the plugs under the dash to get it cycling (do a search on here if you don't know how to). Then while it's cycling blast it out with WD40 or similar. Let it dry out - refit and try the car then. My MY99 used to do the same. Avoid high revs in first gear on the MY99 - oil gets to the boost solenoid and clags it up, my old one had the same mods as yours. Ran fine with no remap (checked over by Prosport on their rolling road) - for years and still is to this day - 10 years 100k odd miles last time I saw it

Think it is, few years since I had a classic. Do a search for boost solenoid - it should come up.
