Default exhaust help

hi all,

ive just put a new exhaust on my bugeye consisting of sports cat(dont know the make) and a toyo sports middle and back box (angled exit) the problem is the top of the back box actually hits the the plate thats just behind the back bumper. the fella that i got the sports cat from said it came off a bugeye but it seems to me that the whole exhaust looks about 2" too long

or is it just me???

Its probably the centre section that is too long, if there is a classic centre section being used with a new age (longer) sports cat then that can increase the length of your system, a new age centre pipe (with the exception of the MY03/04 JDM twin scroll cars which use the longer centre section) is shorter by around that 2-3 inches.

If the hangers all line up then the system fits as it should. I think it needs lowering a little thats all

you could buy some longer exhaust rubber hangers, but in all honesty,if the exhaust is correct for a bugeye, then it should all fit correctly.

Although bolted together there is normally some movement as the bolt holes are generally bigger than the bolts. Id suggest loosening the bolts. Then moving the tail pipe about till it sits lower. Maybe even use some cardboard or similar to wedge it where you want it. Then tighten the bolts back up and remove your wedge
