MY07 Spec C replacement battery fitted
Dear All,
Given the potential challenge this can be, here's my details:
Originally battery (Panasonic 34B19L) has finally failed after just under 5 years. It has spent most of it's life trickle charged with a C Tek 3600XS.
Panasonic Spec is 32Ah, 272 Cold Cranking Amps.
Found a suitable Varta replacement (identical dimensions, including post size and location). Even still fits in the original jacket.
Varta A14 Blue. Full Varta Din no. is 540 126 033. Spec is 330A cold Cranking and 40Ah. So sllightly better performance. weight is 10kg (didn't weight the panasonic).
Cost £49 in VAT with 3 year warranty from my independent local tyre/battery specialist (Alpha Tyres in Stoke-on-Trent).
Online from here: http://performancebatteries.co.uk/product/540+126+033/

Hi Tony,
Tried to find a B31, without sucess. CCA are the same, clearly the B31 has a slightly higher capacity. Though both have higher capacity than the original panasonic. So, I don't share your view it's not correct! I agree the B31 is better.
Cheers,
Ian

I'd also like to know why this not the "correct battery". This is the same one I got to replace my spec c battery, its the same size and has slightly better performance than the original

Tony, Have you over dosed on easter eggs? You used to be the fountain of knowledge as far a Spec C's used to be concerned! I hope normal service is resumed shortly!
Get well soon,
