3" decatted system on a 2001 classic... Do I NEED a remap to make it safe?
Hi guys, just bought a 2001 classic that's totally standard and also found myself a 3" turbo back scorpion exhaust.
Any idea if fitting it will cause issues without a remap?

It is advisable to have a remap, but fitting it should not cause you to many issues apart from faster spool up of the turbo & more noise.Still worth getting it checked over once fitted imho. It is the later cars ie: newage onwards that throw up a check engine light once fully decatted iirc.

As above, I have run 3 classics on decats without remaps, the most recent one has been mapped now. Never has any issues aside from possible boost spike due to the faster spool of the turbo due to less restriction.

Cheers chaps, I know I ran an impreza with only one cat fitted about 5 years ago but only for a few months before I sold it and wasn't sure if any potential problems.
It will be getting a map but I didn't know if I should try and hold back with the exhaust fitting. Seems like it'll be ok to go ahead.
Cheers
