Is the Spec C fuel pump (which is uprated over the std Sti pump) comparable to a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump? Bigger, smaller, better worse ?
Below is a pic of an Sti fuel pump (left) which does look smaller than a Spec C fuel pump (right).

They are larger, put it this way Rick, I would rather have the STI one than the Walbro
atleast I know one of them is of good quality
I think Shaun mentioned it with his Spec C that he ran the Spec C pump with nearly 500bhp.

Its just that Im currently running a Walbro 255 lph pump in my JDM Sti & today I picked up a Hawkeye Spec C fuel pump assembly with the anti surge box
(the anti surge box is what I was really after)
Was wondering whether it would be worth swapping the Walbro pump into the Spec C fuel pump assembly before I install it?

Well after a bit of research I dont think the size of the fuel pump has much relevance to its performance! Though the Spec C fuel pump is uprated over the Sti pump I will none the less change it for my Walbro 255. The Spec C pump is rated upto approx 450bhp from Litchfield / Shaun's findings. But I think the Walbro 255 has a little more in to give and seems to be rated upto 500bhp.
Yes it is, my fuel pump on my Spec C was failing at the top end of the power runs whilst mapping and I swapped it out for an RCM pump, but I understand that the Walbro pumps are a straight change as well.
As said there are lots of counterfeit Walbro pumps out there, that's why I went for an RCM pump but if you can't buy a Walbro pump from a recognised seller then I wouldn't bother. I think the HRC pumps are good and offer the best value for money.

Just wondering if after changing my Walbro 255 to the Spec C fuel pump whether a map tweek of fueling will be required? Bearing in mind I was already running a Sard fuel pressure regulator which has been set up properly in the past and car mapped recently.
I would imagine the fuel pressure will remain the same but fuel flow may have changed. But this would only cause a minimal difference on closed loop idle and not have an affect at open loop, where AFR's are set by mapper? (Its just that I seem to be getting Mpg since changing to the Spec C pump, hence question).
