hi there i have a impreza estate i have fitted a bass box and the battery keeps going flat ive cheacked head unit all ok ive also got a squeal on tick over but goes when im driving and the steering goes a little heavy can anyone give me advise please thanks antony

 

The squeal on tickover is certainly a loose drive belt for the alternator, which also turns the p/s pump.

It's fairly easy to tighten it, but don't OVER-tighten as this can dmage bearings.

Also, if you've had the squeal a while, check the condition of the belt, as it may be worn.
Some later Scoobs are fitted with a smart alternator which only charges when there is a load, best to drive with the internal fans on 1 or 2.

As for the bass box, check that it's ONLY live when the ignition is on.
