Default Opinions needed identifying oil leak?

Hi everyone.

Just after some advice before the car gets taken apart Again! Basically i have noticed a oil leak coming from behind the sump. Its only minor but still a leak.

When the clutch was changed recently the crank seal was fine, say about 6-7 months ago. While the clutchwas getting changed a sligh mist of oil was noticed behind the sump.

I havent got no clutch slip or oil burning smell. When i put my hand right behind the sump near the subframe side i can feel a build up of oil.

What is the likelyhood of the leak? What is more common, also I unsure but what is the bit near the flywheel that can also leak? (Oil seperator cover?) Is this metal or plastic & do the neage have them?

Look forward to the replies

Run your fingers around the rocker cover gaskets Kas, could be the driver's side gasket... Had to change mine recently!

Before you pull the engine/gearbox out just check the breather pipe on top of the block, ive seen them split and they can let a bit of oil out and run down the back of the block.

Thanks Haroon but its not the rocker cover gaskets. I did check them just to be on the safe side.

William, is this breather located near the turbo area, crank case breather?

Yes the breather is just to the right of the turbo when looking from the front, it's a black rubber tube with steel clamps, they go brittle and can crack. Its not a common problem but worth checking for what it takes.
