Default Fitting oil catch can.

My can from Japspeed arrived today so I did a search for a fitting guide. Is it really as complicated as this https://www.scoobynet.com/technical-...n-install.html

So many ways of doing it apparently. I use a 2 port & followed a guide which was on one of the Yank forums.

Not a single drop of oil in the intercooler pipe & intake pipe.

just done mine and used 2 port.i blanked of pcv and connected the 2 pipes that go into the turbo intake pipe witha tee-piece and straight to the catch can so no need to run pipe from each breather on heads and crankcase then ran outlet down transmission tunnel to rear of car.waiting for some blanking plugs to turn up and a new tee-piece to tidy it up.

There is absolutely no difference between a two or three port catch can apart from the number of inlet ports. They all go into the same can regardless of the number of ports.

The difference comes down to where it is baffled or of it has a return.

The issue with a 2 port is that it doesn't 'breathe' well enough you have 2* 10mm breathers from the heads (Tee'd) and one 12/15mm from the block split to PCV/inlet as standard - to run all of this into one 10mm is restricting the system, add to that the fact that some will be positive and some negative pressure the vapours and therefore condensation can just get sucked around your pipework.

For a newage you have 2 breather ports on the top of the cam covers (either side of the engine) although it will be 4 (2 per side) if AVCS (I've blocked off the none baffled one on mine) and a single port on the Crank case behind the inlet manifold (Turbo side) which is Tee'd into the PCV and inlet - This can be made into a single pipe to go into the Catch can.

Your breather pipe then needs to be as big as possible.

This is one of the nicest I've seen:

The one I bought has 15mm ports.
