Default subaru heating

maybe someone can help me

when i first got my 96 impreza sti wagon,a few weeks ago, she was overheating when driven fast

i brought it to my local mechanic and he fixed this, he said one of the pipes were blocked.

i ve drove the car maybe 4 or 5 times since and driving it normally, dropping the boot every now and then the temperature seems fine

i live up a steep hill and when i drive the car quick up the hill the temperature goes up past 3/4s of the way but not up to the max

so when i get home and the needle temp is still up past 3/4s i turned on the heaters first they were red hot then cold, then i turned the car off and back on again and they were red hot again.

also sometimes the car is hard started once warm.

Is this something to be worried about?

any help is appreciated
