turn the crank so the pistons are mid stroke then set the cams up to the marks. set the crank to its mark and slide the belt on. a new belt will have marks on it to help out if needed.

Default fitting belt

ok i have watched few, subaru timming belt instals..and info from scooby net..

let me know were i go wrong

first turn the crank so the cut out/marking is facing upwards.
then fit head gasket
then fit heads
then fit cams

then looking at the block the top right cam turn clockwise till cut out/marking facing up to the cut out on block .

the cam below on right side turn clockwise till cut out/marking is facing right on the cut out on block.

then left side.. turn top one clockwise till cut out/marking is facing upwards to cut out on block.

and bottom one turn clockwise till it its cut out is facing left to the cut out on block .

then fit belt
and release tensioner

i have not tried this im still waiting for correct ansers before i go ahead !
