Default cleaning my engine bay im getting stressed!

hello,

im starting to get a bit stressed out now,my car on the outside the bodywork is looking pretty mint! great!,

but now im getting stressed because my engine bay looks pants! it also has some water which has leaked in because i put two side bonnet scoops on left them for 2 week then changed my mind on them! and there is surface rust from where the water is! (it does just wipe off though! ) i just need to know the best route to go to start to clean it up!

my other dilema i have explained in a post before is i have tried to paint the block and manifold before with silver heat enamal paint, and kind of bodged it up! i should have just used some engine cleaner first to see what its like and then went from there!

Urghhh! where do i go now!?! ,tbh it looks a right mess, i have paint over my pipes etc etc

my guess is i strip off most of the bits i can from the engine, clean, paint and refit parts as req'd?

but when i buy and engine cleaner and spray it on to clean it, what do i cover up? i know obvious things like my air filter...

Also sorry for waffling on ! haha..

Many thanks, Jamie.
