Defi Fail! (Probably user error) Help! :(
Got a MY05 UK STi with a triple Defi gauge pod. (Oil Temp&Pressure, Boost)
The control unit was taped in the drivers footwell, which looked pants and I kept hitting it with my leg and cutting off the gauges.
Had a brainwave and I'm moving it to the single din flip out open bit about the stereo.
Looking at the unit from behind the previous owner has had it repaired as the pins from the control unit to the oil temp clip are missing and have been soldered on.
Soon as I removed the unit one of the solders snapped I re-soldered it onto the board and have now moved all the wires and the control unit into the almost perfect slot for it, plugged it all in and now the gauges don't work at all. Not a sausage.
Everythings plugged in correctly as it was when they were all working.. and the control unit has power as the lights come on when you turn the lights on.
I've played with the connections between unit and wires but nothings come of it.
The connection has always been a bit dodge but was always working.
Any ideas?

You will need to check ALL the wiring.
The rear of the control box has several wires:
One from each sender.
ONE from the control unit to the first gauge.
Thene there are FOUR wires, colour coded:
RED to a PERMANENT live, (not switched).
ORANGE or YELLOW to a switched live, (on when ign is on).
WHITE to sidelight live.
BLACK to a decent earth.
Check that you have all of the above before doing anything else.
