Default what head gasket ??

hiya i need to pay for some headgaskets (ebay)whick ones should i go for...

Subaru Ej20... 1.6mm thick fibre head gaskets... 260959976857

subaru Ej20 ...0.55mm thick steel head gaskets ... 120605785869

subaru Ej20...replacement part/top quality head gaskets. 140658554114

just looking for quick option as car will only be on road for couple months before being sorned. and then engine is coming out as the big engine build will begine ?

It will all depend upon which engine you have and have the head(s) been skimmed?
Also if its not a reputable dealer, you would be best off going to one of the more used suppliers of subaru parts.

its an open deck block... and im not sure if heads have been skimmed in the past but there fine at the moment. they dont need skimming.

has any one used fibre gaskets im about to purchase these 1.6mm fibre gaskets ??? anyone

You want steel, dont go for the composite/fibre ones, those were on the early engines and are not that good.
Also you need to see what EJ number your engine is, I cannot remember off the top of my head but there is a change over between the thinner and thicker gasket sets (ask David at API, he may even provide you with a decent set )

do not buy the fibre ones they are rubbish !! can you measure your old gasket`s that will give you an idea ? defo go for the steel multi layers

'99/Version 5 was the change over to Phase2 engine and the thinner gaskets.
As mentioned above, the fibre/composite gaskets tend to fail especially around the lower coolant gallerys - go for Multi Layer Steel (MLS) gaskets even if its for the short term.

cheers, yer my mate who is a subaru mechanic told me to messure my old head gaskets aswell but he told me a day to late couse i thrown them in the bin lol and now there long gone... but i know the block is out of a S-reg wrx 98/99..
