Default can of worms

yes i know this has been coverd a million times before.
and yes i have used the search !!!! but which engine oil is ok for a 55 plate wrx ppp 261 no other mods
i read that it should be 5-30 fully synth but most seem to use 5-40 or 10-40 any reson for this ????? or would the standerd 5-30 be fine.
not trying to find the best make ect just what grade is best for weekend use don't do trackdays anymore but car is used properly (not thrashed to death but used)

A decent 10w 40 fully synthetic will suffice.

How many 10w 40 full synth are there?I always thought they were very rare at best.

Millers do one, though personal preference would be a 5w40 fully synthetic, check out opie oils

Fuchs TITAN SUPERSYN 5W-40 High Performance, Fully Synthetic from Opie oils is the one i have been recomended for my classic turbo.

Opie Oils will have the answer. They are very helpful and in the know. Very good on price too.

have gone for a 5-30 fully synth as thats what the local subaru dealer recommended.
