Default little help on engine not starting please

hello i have just put a new engine in and as far as im aware i have done everything i can to get it going again but when i turn the car over it is turning over but not firing

i took it to a garage and got it put on a diagnostic machine and it came up crank sensor

so while i was there we tried three different crank sensors still no firing

and after a while he gave up and told me the earth leads needed cleaning and where im connecting them need cleaning

as far as i am aware i have a prodrive wiring loom if that makes sense as im clueless on that part so i cleaned the earths and the areas but i could only find 3 earths is that right on that loom

and i tried the spark plug lead and was getting a single dull spark could that also be the reason its not starting and are they suppose to spark continuousley on turnover

thanks for the help

Did you fit the crankshaft timing belt gear trigger wheel off your original engine, as have seen different ones, my replacement engine came with a totally different one and don`t think it would have ran.

If he's getting any spark it can't be that the wires are the wrong way round, if they were the wrong way round im sure it wouldn't spark at all. Have you got fuel in the cylinder when it's trying to fire?

He is getting a single spark on coil/leads. Its not syncing for some reason. Its either the plugs wrong as I mentioned or crank trigger as above.

Maybe...

Hi I just looked at my coils and they have a white switch on the front and a black on the back is that the right sequence

I'm going to change the plugs see if that helps first then try the other things mentioned above. As there harder

Cheers for the help

u know mate

stop wasting peoples time ( some more than others ) and take the car to someone who knows what theyre doing rather than blaming other people for ur mistakes and lying to people

theres people who are people who speak the truth mate and are honest and genuine and then there's fanys

u decide what cattegory u fit ?

quite rightly so mate

1. aye your not my mate ( just a saying )

2. get a grip

3. no , u apparantley dont have the time for things as u work but have the time to do that lol and not once did either garage fix the car , hmmmmm ???

4. people dont start for no reason

5. and........ lol same place ?? ayr's the west end of scotland mate but i do admit i know him and hence know what the **** ur all about as the 3 crank sensors u mention are from him......... even though u claim u didnt have one with the engine , he sent you 2 , and voila u have 3 , the one that came with the engine and the 2 that were sent to

plus u stated that it was all u needed to start the engine and that YOU were just building it up

you are utterly full of ****e mate and a complete **** not only trying to lie to people for your own gain but taking the **** out of a good guy too

btw , i dont care what u think or say , your still full of ****e and thats my point that you dont deserve the help

So your telling me you have had it to 5 garages and not one of them have been able to tell you what wrong I doubt that very much..

First of all for a engine to run you need three things

1. Spark
2. Fuel
3. Compression

I asume as you have had it at 5 garages and all they are telling you its a cranck sensor your car is getting all of the above yes ?

To me and this is me just guessing with my 15 years as a Master Tech for Nissan and some other manufactures. Judging by what you have said you have a wiring fault you have a wire pluged in wrong or you have a trapped a wire putting the engine in and damaged it..

You might want to change over the sensors from the old engine to the new one as well, I have had this before changing engines for second hand ones, the sensors can differ from the original engine and the ECU wont recognise the signals from them if they are the wrong ones. But as you have been to 5 garages you will already of been told this as every mechanic on the planet will know this.

Let me know how you get on

Who fitted the engine it sounds to me you have did it yourself ?

well if i got sent a crank sensor and not cam sensor maybee this thread wouldnt exist

but thats not the case i was told that all i had to do was bolt my manifold on and away i go so far every sensor on the engine i have had to use all my old sensors barring my crank sensor what broke on my old one not going to mention any names but he is helpfull not complaining about that but inbetween me doing bits i have also took it to several garages
