is it safe to use a 1.1 or 1.3 headgasket, car had a 1.6, and was mapped by jgm.
getting heads skimmed and was thinking a 1.3 would improve compression.
just wondering, so many people use 1.6mm
providing there is no touching of valves on pistons, i cant see a issue. as they are interference engines anyway.

Depends what CR you want to run - you really need to volume your combustion chambers after the heads have been skimmed and add that into your CR calculations to determine gasket thickness.

wondering if that compression is good. or if i can improve on it. if i done the maths correct that is.
down to jgm for tweeking then.
everychance 1.6 is the best option, im curious incase i can get more power.
Obviously the higher compression ratio:1 the more potent each *bang* would bring but its a risky way to go. If you have had the head skimmed then I'd reccomend a thicker gasket, or if you used 1.6 again you'd have a higher compression ratio than before. 1.3 may be too high.
