My mate has asked me to confirm if an 18inch wheel with an offset of ET53 will clear the bremboi caliper?

I think you have to use a slight spacer readly available to clean the brembo calipers

 

It doesnt work that way, the ET is good for a subaru (normally upto and including the hawk, 48-53) but its the spokes that cause the issue, if there is not enough room behind those then you will have problems with the Brembo's.
You really need 18 inch wheels that are recommended for new age STI's to be 100% sure that they will clear the calipers.
