I have just purchased a wrx 2001, 104k with fsh, just got cambelt done & mechanic rang back to say a part of the exhaust was blowing, think it was the one connected to the turbo or the 2nd peice, apparently this can mean big problems for me as it can make it run lean/rich, I already replaced a engine in my last sunaru so am ocd with this car, I havent drove it more than 50 miles as it needed the belt doing, apparently getting this exhaust peice changed is a pita job & takes 4 hours?

Any advice on this would be appreciated, could I get det etc or am I ok to to go around taking it steady until funds allow?

4 hours? imagine its the up pipe then.. Downpipe is 1 hour tops as is the rest of the system cat back.

Yes that helps I think its the up-pipe.

Yes 4 hours apparently, sounds like a pita job, if its leaking do you think it could cause det?
