ECU Reset UK 1995 Classic
So I replaced my MAF today to see if this was causing my stuttering as a coilpack inspection showed them all to be perfect and uncracked, MAF change didn't fix the problem though, so now I have 2 good or 2 bad MAFs
I performed an ECU reset and got 4 pulses then a long break, then 4 pulses and a long break, they were all the same length, a post I have read here indicates that is the correct sequence after a dynamic reset. JGM and Scoobypedia say it is a continuous series of pulses, am I safe in thinking that the 4 pulses of even length (1111) is a reset with no codes stored?
(I used the search https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...ml#post9786723 )
Anyway, next question for the experts, I unplugged my ICV to see if it was working and RPM rose so assumed it was fine, so now I have a stored error code of 24, presumeably another reset will clear this?
I still have the 4-5k rpm stutter so gonna finish my newage coil pack swap and see if that helps.
Only mods on the car are a panel filter and centre section/backbox, and it did the same before I fitted those
Thanks in advance guys

for ecu have read of this
http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...eadingECUCodes
i thought 'no error' was continously flashing at the same rate (i.e. pauses/pulses the same rate)

this is the line I am looking at
....."In Diagnostic Mode – No Fault is indicated by the Check Engine Light continuously & evenly flashing on/off (this is also used to indicate the successful completion of an ECU Reset).".......
'evenly flashing' means to me that it flashes at the same rate for ever (not four flashes and then a long pause)
this is what i got after resetting the ECU on my car (my00) (i.e. - short flash, short pause, - this continues until I switch of or disconnect plug)
Having said that -- I dont know what your flashes indicate !!!
If you are lucky Tony Burns will be along shortly (top expert and makes sensible posts......................!)

Dynamic mode
1. Get the engine to operating temperature, when the cooling fans have just switched off.
2. Turn the car and ignition off.
3. Connect the green conectors this time (No.2 in the picture)
4. Switch the ignition on but don't fire it up or it won't work!
5. Check the management light is on. If it is you can start it up.
6. If the light doesn't flash drive the car above 10mph for about a minute, no less than 30 seconds.
7. Stop driving and rev the car up to 2000rpm for at least a minute (this is great when you have an Impreza Turbo with a big exhaust!)
8. Count the flashes on the management light. Remember a long flash is 10 and a quick flash is 1.
9. Compare the code to the list above.
10. Turn the ignition off and disconnect the green connectors.
11. Thats you!
How to clear them!
1. Make sure the engine is up to normal temperature (the cooling fans have just turned off)
2. Turn the ignition off
3. Connect the green connectors together
4. and connect the black ones together too
5. Switch the ignition on but don't start it.
6. Check the management light is on.
7. Drive the car for about a minute above 10mph
8. Stop and rev the car to at least 2000 revs for at least a minute
9. Check the light flashes 4 long flashes (Indicating fault code 1111)
10. Switch the ignition off and disconnect the green and black plugs
11. Thats you! Easy wasn't it?

Mine did the 4 short flashes, a gap, then the same 4 short flashes until I unplug the connectors.
