Don't go chaging the turbo on the Hawk. If you want more power than the VF43 is capable of producing you really need to get forged pistons/rods etc in there! The Hawk's pistons aren't good for more than about 1.35 bar boost. If you go for a bigger turbo and have to turn the boost down you just end up with poorer spool characteristics and not as much power as the bigger blower can produce!

A well tuned Hawk with a VF43 is a very nice car for the road.

Not to mention being highly out of pocket either way

Not highly out of pocket to tune a hawk with a standard VF43 mate, just exhaust, fuel pump, 3 port, panel filter and remap. Hey presto, right side of 350bhp and around 400lbs ft torque

Or did you mean out of pocket if engine lets go, out of pocket if you have to go down the forged route?

You play, you pay as they say!

thanks for the help guys im not planning on going the forged route so will keep this turbo sorry im still new to this but what is a 3 port? and where to i get one? what makes to you reccomend? would i need much more for about 360-370? read somewhere about 370 is as far as standard pistons should go to keep reliability.

i was thinking maybe a FMIC, k + n 57i and manifold? getting decat exhaust, fuel pump and remap soon so want to get everything before remap

does a 3 port need mapping in?

thanks

U will need to map the 3 port in as it's what holds the boost. It will also hold the bost better with a 3 port. This seems to be general consensus I found when researching the mods for my car so I got a pro drive 3 port from FB Tuning on here.

Yes the 3 port would need mapping for; generally most mappers will fit it for you just before the map is done.

Wouldn't bother with an FMIC and induction kit at that level. Std intercooler and airbox is fine. Ported headers might be w worthwhile mod. Tubular ones prob unnecessary at that level.

here one I did earlier

3port not really necessary on them but doesnt hurt and will help hold the boost to higher rpm..

Decat or sports cat, panel filter and remap the best route.

Exactly what I meant mate if they go bang= big bucks. Forge = big bucks. I was lucky when I bought mine I had the option to go forged relatively cheaply so it's just screaming out for a bigger turbo
