Default Oil Smell

Hi

Just after a bit of advice to what the following could be:
When the engine is warm and driven normally I get a smell of hot oil, I smell it often when allowing the car to cool down.

I have changed the oil as this was suggested, I have checked the engine block for leaks and none which are visable and its not using any oil (not topping it up)

The turbo sounds fine and no weird noises from the engine bay. I have been told 'just a scooby keeping you on feet' but it just doesnt feel right to me

Any suggestions ?????

drivers side rocker cover gasket dripping onto your uppipe or heat shield mate and burning off. It will only be a tiny amount but creates quite a bit of a smell. my bug does it as have my classics in the past. you smell it when the cars cooling down because your stationary and this time of year your heater is on no dout and sucks the smell into the cab. i might be wrong but that's what my moneys on

I had exactly the same problem so I bought a driver side rocker gasket. Garage went to fit it...no leak. Long story short, it always smelled of oil at the same place on Wrexham bypass, nowhere else...........it was the Khazana Indian restaurant
