No, you get what you pay for in the main, but I have issues with SAMCO being too thick because of the way the silicon is layered up. Also tried the Hong Kong specials and they are okay, but I'll be buying the Eclipse ones next to see what the difference is
apart from the samco hoses being too thick, what do you mean by you get what you pay for? Do the mid and lower not fit as well as samco and sfs?
At the mo i'm trying to decide between sfs and eclipse, loads of good reports on here about the sfs pipes, but not much is any feedback on the eclipse pipes. Ahhhh dilemas dilemas dilemas

It's not just fitment issues with the cheaper, normally china manufactured hoses. If the hose requires a level of fuel/oil resistance, then the inner liner needs to be constructed from fluorosilicone. Standard silicone can be as cheap as £5 per kg, fluorosilicone is upwards of £50 per kg.
I tested a set of cheap Chinese hoses for a well known motorsport company recently and there supplier had craftily used standard silicone. Result: a brittle inner liner within 24 hours

Ahhhh, I see.
Its good to hear feedback from someone who's actually tried the different makes. My rad blew today so I'm going to replace the pipes at the same time.
Have you got round to trying the eclipse pipes?
It will be between the eclipse and samco/sfs pipes for me.

I've had SAMCO and cheap chinese copies on my current scoob, the SAMCOs were spot on, the fitment of the chinese copies took some work, but once on have been fine (coolant and boost). I'm doing another colour change so I'll be getting some Eclipse ones and some from here for the intercooler and vacuum etc http://www.apmotorstore.co.uk/
