Default What is methanol? How do i use it? Can you notice a differance?

Hellooo everyone,

I've been on here for a while now and I keep seeing people mention ''meth''.
I've found a website called jennychem on another thread who sell it!

How is methanol used?

Will I notice a differance if I'm just daily driver?

What gains are expected?

Any hazards to look out for car wise?

Thanks Jamie

You'll need the ECU remapped to get the best gains from it.

I use meth once a week and that is annoying, plus you need to be very careful when handling or storing it.

1 teaspoon ingested orally is death within 48hours. i wouldn't go getting it on your hands either.

good for power increases depending on ratio used, cheaper than petrol if bought in bulk IIRC £130 for 205 ltrs was the last lot I bought.

can cause death if ingested
needs to be stored correctly and handled in the same way.
too much meth after a map is a risk of running lean.

no it isnt, but 2-4 teaspoons ingested orally can cause blindness, and typically it takes considerably more than that to be fatal. Generally not nice stuff but neither is petrol and no one seems to worry too much about that !
I use it all the time and as long as your careful you shouldn't have any problems.

Remember when it burns the flame is invisible but at least you can put it out with water. Antidote for methanol poisoning is ethanol or booze!

booze? Is that just an excuse? haha

In all seriousness im interested in this. ie running a 10-15% mix for when i intend to to go for a spirited drive every now and then are there any particular gains or is it not worth it?
