Default So confused, need help identifying what I have???

Hi everyone. I've been tryin to figure all this out myself but I've given up. Basically I have bought a 98/99 impreza gl which has been converted to a turbo (body work, engine, interior) but its a mix of all different parts and makin it impossible for me to know why I have.
I've figured the ecu is a v5 j2 jdm sti type r unit but can't figure the engine. It's meant to be from a p1 according to the previous owner, with the inlet off a jdm turbo (can remember what model) but I tried to fit a v5 jdm sti inlet yesterday but it didn't fit as the bolt holes to the heads are different. The current inlet and heads bolt pattern is T shaped and the v5 jdm sti inlet has two bolts per cylinder that are offset (I'll figure out how to put a pic up if my description is useless) I tried fitting the sti inlet as my current setup doesn't have an idle control valve but the new inlet has the correct one for the plug on my car (6 pin plug that connect to the idle valve on throttle body)
The only other stuff I know that I think can help is that when I changed the drivers side rocker cover, the camshaft had R3IN and R3EX written on them. Also the turbo inlet runs underneath the inlet manifold but the turbo has been changed to a td05-18g. The only engine numbers I can find are EJ20BUG
So basically does anyone have any idea what I have?? I need to know so I can sort this idle valve issue out now and also need to know because I don't know what I have at the minute and it's just making life difficult.
I think I'm going to have to take it to a scooby specialist or something but if anyone knows anything it's help so I can try to sort parts this week
Thanks in advance for any help

Probably got early heads, V1-4, hence the manifold not fitting.

Photobucket for hosting pics.

Do any of the v1-4 inlets have the idle control valve on the throttle body?
And I didn't buy a wrx or sti as I got offered this car in p/x for my BMW.
Anyone know what the ej20bug block is?

Cheers for the link to the ej20bug search, but I've already tried that and it doesn't give a definate answer. Everyone starts talking about the turbo and ecu. Anyone know about the inlet manifolds? Or can I just get the wires changed to run on a different idle valve which will bolt onto my inlet?

And it doesn't make much difference to insurance as I've bothered to declare all mods rather than drive around insured as a non turbo. But it has actually worked out slightly cheaper
