2001 bugeye wrx wagon shocks help

Default 2001 bugeye wrx wagon shocks help

hello to all.

right i have a uk 2001 wrx wagon and need the rear shocks replacing what options do i have?
i.e seconhand coilovers £450 set
seconhand standard £250 set
seconhand sti £350 set
or just replace the rears with new satandard at £105 a corner?
also being a wagon will the saloon shocks fit?

many thanks for any replys and advice with this im sure this will be the first of many posts i will need help and advice with.

I think your secondhand prices are a bit high for just rears. Apparently they can be stripped down and rebuilt.

the £105 is for new rears so £210 for a pair new. no springs though just the shock

Don't think you can re build the Wrx shocks. You should be able to pick a set of sti shocks up for around 150 quid.

And you can put saloon suspension on your car, bug or blob eye will fit as long as they are the 100 pcd

I wouldn't replace for Kayaba Ultra-SR which STi has, as they are prone to fail... My opinion is to fit a standard WRX Excel-G ones and you will be happy.

Just be aware, if you fit blobeye shocks on bugeye, you will also need to replace rear springs with that ones from blob.

thanks for replies.
i have bin offered some seconhand coilovers not sure on make but there less than a year old for £450 posted. is that a good price?
or should i just replace the rears with new shocks and use the old springs?

+1, recently paid under £200 for four STI shocks for my blob-wagon mate.. so far so good..

the wrx wagon has narrower tracking than the sedan,wrx or sti, not a problem with the rears but if you replace the fronts from the sedan you will lose negative camber adjustment and need to replace the non camber oem bolt in the lower cleavis with an aftermarket adjustable camber bolt.
Camskill performance are a good source, think about £30.
