Changing airbox hose on MY00 Classic.

Changing airbox hose on MY00 Classic.
I've got a K&N induction kit on my MY00 UK Turbo. It's got a short rubber elbow connecting the MAF housing tube to the turbo inlet pipe. It's so short that the wires for the MAF sensor rest up against the header tank. Not ideal, obviously.
If I was to replace this with the standard 'windy' hose that's on the factory airbox setup, would this require mapping?
The pipe I want to change is on the right of this pic:

The pipe I want to replace it with is this:

wouldnt need a map imo, the air flow rate over the maf wont be any different given that the hose is downstream of the maf, car should be tweeked for the extra airflow from the filter anyway firstly

Go back down the wiring to where it enters the loom and it will be possible to extract a few more inches of wiring to get an easier/freer route to your MAF Sensor plug. Retape the loom where you have cut it back/exposed it.
If you change air filter arrangement, particularly on 99-00 you must remap so if you had it on air box which is quite adequate beyond 350 bhp and changed to a K+N cone you must remap. There is a good chance the engine will run lean on the K+N cone and this could cause a piston to nip in the bore.
