Lambda code and blowing exhaust
Hi guys,just a quick question.
I recently had a blowing exhaust at the joint from the down pipe to the centre silencer.
I also had a fault code 32 stored which is the lambda sensor. The light never came on,it was just there if you scanned it.
Last week I had a new exhaust fitted with new gaskets so the blowing has stopped, and the code 32 isn't there anymore.
So my question is can an exhaust that's blowing at the front centre joint cause the lambda sensor to act up?
It's also running much better now.
Danny.

This error code, can be just historic error code, which is stored in ECU for longer time..But looking from this, can be your CEL light/diode not working...
Yes blowing exhaust can act up,i've similar problem before with mine older exhaust(cheap ebay exhaust).
What i know damaged/faulty lambda sensor can robbed you for about the 10-15bhp(i've seen too around 10% from power)and blowing exhaust can be same...

Thanks for the replies guys.
So it could be an old code then,as it hasn't brought the light on.It really does drive smoother now and pulls noticeably better.
The car goes in for a service in a couple of weeks so I'll get them to check the emissions as well just to be certain.
Many thanks.
Danny.
