Depends which version you have.. you should be able to see which wires it cuts, and it will then take power, ground and read a few other signal wires but not cut them.
Establish which wires it cuts and reconnect them and then cut the wires it piggybacks and job done.
I presume it is a box about size of a cig packet rather than the fuel cut defender which is about the size of a match box?

It very likely has a bleed valve fitted as well, it was part of the original kit.
The valve raised the boost level, and the device clamped the map sensor output. Remove both and you're back to stock.
Thankfully Subaru tuning has moved on since then!

its about the size of a matchbox with earth, map, ECU and positive wire and there is also a red light and green light on it. there is a bleed valve to so do i have to block any holes after i take this off? the garage that fitted it are well known for not doing a very good job of fitting them

There are four wires, a live feed, an earth and the two wires which break into the map sensor output. You need to just trace them back and reconnect when it's removed.
Any doubt, give me a call on 01752 345880 and I'll talk you through it.
