I read somewhere you need to put in soft water - or water without the calcium content. Suppose if you can be bothered, also better for general radiator coolant and screenwash. I filled up some bottles with tap water from Cornwall for topping up IC Spray Bottle. Sounds daft I know, but there you are.

De-ionised is the best water for it, stops you getting all those nasty white marks on there, one of the reasons I add screen wash, plus its good for winter, 12ltrs of ice behind your rear seats isnt much fun
