Default sound system woe`s

heres my little problem,.
i have a 95 wrx saloon with a pair of 6/9 speakers mounted in the rear shelf, the problem is when my subs start to move the air around in the boot (flex) obviously the weakest point of the boot will flex which is my 6/9`s so basically the subs are killing the 6/9`s, as there is very limited space on the rear shelf to box the 6/9`s im wondering if anyone else has suffered this and what they have done, any pics would be great,.
steve,.

if I was you I'd take the 6x9s out and put a 10mm space down or so in MDF - create a fibreglass box for the 6x9 which is quite thick and refit - thus created a sealed space.

Also with using the spacer - you can sandwich the closure in between the metal and the spacer and also keep the speaker clear in the boot

i was going along those lines but the new 6/9`s need a deep hole to sit so i thought about making some sort of enclosure which will be fixed under the shelf in the boot but its a shed load of messing about isnt it,.

My 6x9's are on 18mm medf spacers, covered in proper shelf fabric.
They actually intrude into the boot very little.

Are you sure you have the 6x9's in phase with the sub? They should be moving WITH the sub, not against it
