A few tuning questions for classic
Hi guys,
Just got back from the Nurburgring, and the car was great but it wants a bit more power!
Now i have had a good search on here, and found a recommendation that i should change the intercooler Y pipe, fuel pump, turbo & a remap.
Now I have a full Fujitsumo turbo back system and a K&N filter, and i'm about to order a fuel pump. Where would you guys use for a Walbro?
Also, the turbo, i see loads of different standard fit turbos for sale, but unsure exactly what the difference is? I was thinking a TD05-16g, but i see VF22's & VF24's etc, i'd like around 300-330bhp, what would you guys recommend?
And as for this intercooler Y pipe, i've only seen those available for the later versions? Mine is a '96 Turbo 2000.
Thanks for any advice
James

On a 96 you should have TD05 16g, so a good start.
Not sure if your 380 injectors will take you to where the turbo maxes out, I could be wrong.
You change your intercooler to the STi 8 top mount, pig to fit on your but they are good.
As for mapping, a piggy back ECU or an aftermarket one.
Not much help. But others will come along and correct me if I am wrong in any parts.

If you have a 90 degree inlet to the turbo, and a slanty intercooler than you`ve a TD05 (as long as you have a Saloon, not sure about Wagons).
Your best off getting some 440cc injectors, a Walbro pump, a fmic or larger tmic, then an ESL daughter board and map and your going to be a bit over 300 I recon.
If you have a square intercooler, the intake pipe goes under the inlet manifold then chances are you`ve a TD04.
