Default Classic engine swap with Sti bug eye

As above just wondering if this could be done and if so what it entailed basically, been offered an 02 plate bug eye Sti Scooby for a good price, but it dot hae an engine I have a good low mileage engine that I could remove from my uk 2000 turbo( same power with the mods I have) as the bug eye Sti so was wondering if I was to replace the Sti ecu with say a standard wrx ecu and Lock set, keys etc would it b a case of putting my engine in there any help woul be much appreciated on this guys

The wiring etc is different. Could be done but youd need to use everything from the older car. The sti would also has avs which is great for spool. Youd be better off selling your m/y2000 and buying a proper sti engine.

Would b nice but it cost mate spent alot on my own so tvh wouldn't want to part with it, oh well sod swapping all that over too much like hard work just wondered if there would be an easier way around it seemingly not tha ms anyways mate.

this kind of thing has been done a million times in the US because we were't given the Classic with a turbo version. best thing to find info would be to go through the

Neil@EMB done this,he swapped New age ECU with engine to his Type RA
