hi have just been given a set of conrods from a 2007 sti 2.5lt impreza is it true that they are much stronger than my standard rods in my 1995 wrx?(am rebuilding the engine at mo) if so i will fit them, the stroke is the same in the 2.0lt as the 2.5lt so should fit with no issues.

Yes they are a direct fit, both rods should be 130.5mm centre's, & much stronger than the early stud & nut type rods.
The stroke is diffrent 2.0 75mm, 2.5 79mm but the rods are the same.

shouldn't make a difference. ive never seen a directional conrod

 

i know in the manual i have it says fit marks on rods towards the front of crank and arrows on bearing caps to front! but mine has marks on both sides of rod and no arrow on big end caps!

 

Has a symbol on one side i belive this faces foward
