Default speedo

hello could somebody gomme sum advice pls ??
my scooby speedo has stopped working along with the trip meter, it started playing up on the motorway stating i was travelling at between 40 and 70 at the same time.
does anybody have an idea how to fix this?? i would appreciate any help as im new to owning a scooby

We need more info, specifically what car, what model and what year?

If it's a changeover year, what colour dials did it have when new?

sorry its an impreza sport awd. 1998 version. just has the original dials.

Shouldn't that be an electronic one?

Should mean that you could have a fault code.

oh and the "check engine" message has now appeared could this be linked??

Then read the section titled, "Manually Reading ECU Codes (Classic Impreza’s only)"

If you are lucky it will give you a fault code.
