crank pulley
Hi I have my engine(97 type r) out and I am having trouble getting the crank pulley off do I need a special tool or is there a trick to get them off

you could use a pulley or simply just keep wiggling it from side to side. I had trouble getting mine off the other week but I just kept wiggling it and eventually it came off.

thanks but i cannot get the nut off the whole engine just spins over?
do I need to lock something?

Put it in gear with the handbrake on and if requred get someone to sit in it with their foot on the brakes

or jam something in the flywheel to stop engine turning over then try and undo it..

Hi
I am in Ashford Kent and have a tool for holding the pulley whilst you undo the crankbolt, you are welcome to use it if you get stuck.
