Question Replacing rubber fuel line

I need to replace the rubber fuel line from the bulkhead towards the engine on my V5 STI type R as the original is perished
I have the correct sized pipe (i think), but its very stiff to get on, so what are the best ways of making the rubber a little easier to work with?
Hair dryer?
Heat gun?
Just persevere??

Thanks

Tony

I'd second the boiling water method, should soften enough to stretch the little bit needed.
