Default Engine differences between STi & UK 2000 turbo?

Hi,
I've had a search on here, & can't seem to find much, but i'm a bit confused about the actual engine differences!
I believe the engine internals are the same, but heads are different? & turbos?
Also, i'm wondering what the difference in ECU's is? Anyone know all of this, or have a link to somewhere i could find out?
Thanks guys,
James

Loads of differences internally and externally throughout the different model years, I'm still learning now and find it confusing sometimes, I have a v3 sti and it has forged pistons as standard and the heads and cams are different to a uk 2000 aswell as my turbo which is a vf23, Would probably be easier for people to help if you had a specific model year in mind to compare to

To be honest, its not something i'm planning to convert or anything to mine, i'll just fit forged internals etc & build an engine that way, i was kind of interested so i could easily decide what heads etc would be good to use.
Ddn't realise there were so many differences, but thanks for the info, its good to know.
I'll have to do a bit more research!
Cheers,
James

Best classic heads are V3/V4 heads, most agressive cams on classic

Does that just refer to the STi's?
Thanks Ian.

Yes, version 3 STI cams were deemed to be the most agressive ones you could get, the most agressive map on the other hand was with the version 5/6 STI's, and versions only apply to classic STI's, its another thing that causes confusion when people use it in the wrong context
