Default Clutch woes again!! Can I get away with it?

Well I've nothing but joy again with this damn clutch

Went to fit it and heard a ping across the workshop. Checked the pressure plate over and found one of the 3 springs had jumped the other side of the pressure plate, the ping was part of the spring snapping and flying off into the distance!!

Has anyone had this problem before? Can I get away with 2 springs? Anyone know if I need a exedy pressure plate of will any do? Pi$$ed off now as the engine was going back in this weekend.

I`d say no, you may get away with it to use it albeit nice and slow.
But it will always be a liability and could go at any time, only for you to have to remove the engine/box yet again.

Its a ball ache but better to do it all when its easy to change, rather than fit and hope and pray.

That's what I was thing to be honest, but it's a ballache having the engine taking up space for another week. Need to drop lateral a lie and see about getting a pressure plate.

Just had another thought. What about using the old exedy pressure plate with the new clutch?

As long as its ok then don`t see why not??

Edit it depends on why it was removed, if the spring plates are fine, then don`t see a problem.
If the pressure plate springs are duff, then its will just slip.

But can`t be any worse than fitting the broken one thats for sure.

Worst case scenario is that you`ll have to remove it again. Best case is that it will last until the friction plate wears out.
