engine oil drain and replace, turbo 2000 98, 106k miles..
hi, i have searched in the search box but keep getting fccked off, because the search box never seems to work for me, if i search for engine oil it comes up with thing totally irrelivent to engine oil!
anyway..
the mech at the shop is going to be doing a small service on my scoob, i think he told me to go buy 5w/30? but i have been reading everyone saying 10w/40
my car has 106k miles and will be driven hard sometimes and also be going for the re-map soon to go from hopefully 212bhp ish to 300bhp ish..
Thanks for any advice. J.

Millers 10w-40 or 10w-50 is the best I believe.

It is harder to find 10/40 in fully synthetic than it is to find it in a semi synthetic as 10/40 semi was the oil used in your car when it was built 13 yrs ago. Most major oil companies do a 10/40 in a semi synthetic.

Hi there,
I use 15w50 in my bug, have been doing so for 2 years, the garage I use say they have never had to do a rebuild on a car that uses this grade of oil, only rebuilds on 5w30 and 5w40.
I aslo believe prodrive recommend 15w50, http://www.motul-oil.co.uk/pdfs/300v...S_%28GB%29.pdf
My car is a daily driver too.
