Default wrx project

hi everyone, ive just picked up a lush classic wrx import its got some nice bits too fmic,td05, hks induction kit, full decat, lowered, nice wheels, ect ect,
i got it cheap as there engine is knackerd!! we got it home today it smokes really bad and is mis firing!! looks like piston land to me but tomorrow i will know more,
i suppose the cheapest way of getting this car back on the road would be to buy a second hand motor and go get it set up to suit the mods rthat are fitted.
do any of you know where or who may have a engine for sale?
many thanks danny.

Have a look in the for sale section on here or pistonheads, etc. I sold a complete engine minus turbo for your car 3 weeks ago for £400,and the guy spent 3.5 hrs driving to pick it up, as it had covered 72k & the cambelt was done in jan this year.
Just make sure you ask all the right questions and don't buy a knackered engine, failing that take it to a GOOD Subaru garage / mechanic and get them to diagnose what may be wrong with your car as it could just be knackered turbo oil seals & plugs.

I've done a compression test today and discoverd cylinder 2 has non at all !!!!! All the intercooler pipes were full of oil, I'm pritty sure the td05 is to blame for the piston goin pop as the ecu is the standard wrx z4?
