Default MY08 dump valve removal

I'm probably buying an MY08 sti tommorow and its been fitted with a dump valve, I'm not a big fan of them and i want to get rid, but this being my first subaru i dont know anything about the turbo fitted, does it have recirc valve as standard in the turbo, i assume so, and do people blank them off? I'll ask the guy but i dont know if he fitted it. Im coming from an R26 and i know they have a built in valve, and people buy plates to blank them.

Cheers for your help, i tried searching but it appears the term dump valve occurs with quite some frequency on this forum!!

There is an actuator in the turbo, the re circ valve is on the other side of the intercooler normally, though I would read up about the 2008 onwards 2.5ltr engines before doing anything untowards with it, nice bit at the top of the page in Scoobynet General

Tony

PS, you wont even hear the recirc valve if its the standard one.

I picked up the car today, and was wondering which original re circ valves would fit it? They all look very similar on ebay, but some claim to cover 00-08 some 01-06 etc etc.

cheers

p.s engine appears to be in one piece, reading the post you mentioned did make me wonder!
