I've removed the 2 on the right as u look at the engine bay but can't get the 2 on the left out, it's driving me nuts. It's as if the engine needs to be lifted a bit as the chassis is in the way?

Any Advice as I'm near giving up?

 

Have you put the extension bar in first then attached the ratchet?

 

Removed the water bottle (if you have't) that should give you some space and as CREWJ said attach the socket and extention on the spark plug then the ratchet that should be it.

 

I find the hardest pair are the ones on the right below the washer bottle - I take out the bottle to do them.

The left is not so bad in my experinece. But the correct length socket extension is key to success.

 

As you look at it, the left should have the intake in the way. It depends what set up he has.

 

I find the right the easiest with the water bottle out, it's the left I'm struggling with, the my extension bar is a fraction to long

 

Being lazy I've done the right hand ones from underneath (no undertray fitted)

 

As keith said! Once you have the right length extension then put that over the plug then the ratchet and its really easy, took me about 2 hours to do it the first time but when you know what your doing it should only take an hour!

How long is the right extension bar?

 

I'm at work and cannot get to my tools right now. Besides, I have several extensions all around the same length and one works best, but I probably can't remember which without testing.

But I have found that once the plug is loose, then I have to take the ratchet handle off in order to get the plug out without getting stuck against the bodywork. So you just need the extension turned with the finger tips and hopefully, the thread is not too tight :-)

 

I used a 3/8 drive ratchet and 75mm extension and 16,5/8 plug socket with rubber insert removed .I did it plug and extension in first then attach ratchet well with the battery and washer bottle removed passide and airbox drside
