Default Cold Air Intake

Bought a 1996 v3 STI with a HKS Intake on it(the mushroom) and it seems to be running fine. I was wondering if a K & N 57i Induction Kit would make it run lean without a remap?

find technical data on both and compare flow rates, if not much difference then probably ok, but if it gets hotter than usual then yes so go back to the old one till you've done something else that def needs a map, it's bound to happen eventually and the k&n will only get more expensive anyway

so a caik can make your car run hotter than normal? i never knew that. if your filter was dirty could it also cause your car to run hot?

no leaner fuel mix ie more air than usual=hotter, dirty filter mixture will be richer
