Default Exhaust heat shields

As I have the engine out of car and I am clearing it up ready to refit.
I am after some advice on exhaust heat shields, I am talking about the shields around the manifolds and pipe up to turbo on a 99 classic.

1) Should I remove the old ones and leave off?
2) Should I remove the old ones, repair and replace?
3) Should I remove the old ones and replace with heat wrap?

What are your thoughts?

I don’t intend to use the car for any track days.

Cheers

if you take them off i would heat wrap them to keep the heat in the manifolds and away from the engine

As above but don't use the cheap Scambay stuff, dry s out and rots in a few weeks & falls off.
but if you have the shields and all the bolts have come out plop it back on (if they not rotted).
