i thought that but can flux throttle 3ooorpm to 4000rpm and dump valve goes off then let throttle off and do it again so dont think dump valve sticking was thinking intercooler as only does it with loads of throttle like an air leak but only at high pressure

Get rid of the blow off d/v, go back to a recirculating type, problem goes away.

Agreed, seems to be a shared opinon amongst quite a few people I speak to who have run VTAs and they have subsequently removed them due to the car running like a bag of nuts and bolts; including myself. Go back to the recirc you'll get better performance.

If it's the sound you're after, go for a cold air induction system routed through the inner wing, the cone sits behind the fog lamp and draws in cold dense air and when you let off the throttle you get a similar sound but more subtle. I'm running one myself and I'm more than happy with the performance. You can hear it sucking in air like a brass sucking a golf ball through a garden hose as you apply the throttle.

Is it leaking? Check the gasket and all pipes to/from it for tightness and any splits.

If all is well, change the d/v for a new recirc type.

You won't SEE any leaks, you have to physically and CAREFULLY inpect ALL pipes leading to/from the d/v, and that from the turbo to the inlet manifold.

Just looking isn't good enough, squeeze and check for splits.

Not as far as i aware, You need to put load on the engine,

Have you changed anything recently, Do you have an induction kit fitted?

More than likely a loose/split hose

And your car is mapped for these changes? If not,i think there is your problem, second thoughts will be check gasket on Downpipe, this can cause noise/air leak(i know from mine own experience)

Wow, that's a lot of changes to one of these engines. Is it mapped, and if so by who?
